Frequently Asked Questions

Can I participate if I'm not in the USA?

While the tournament is primarily focused on US players to ensure optimal connection quality, international players are welcome to participate. However, all matches will be played on US servers, so please consider potential ping issues before registering.

How are divisions determined if team members have different ranks?

Divisions are assigned based on the average competitive rank of the five highest-ranked players on your roster. We use a numerical value for each rank to calculate this average.

What happens if we can't make a scheduled match time?

Teams are expected to be available during their scheduled match times. If a team cannot make their scheduled time, they should contact tournament admins at least 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling is possible but limited, and excessive reschedule requests may result in forfeiture.

How will prize money be distributed to winning teams?

Prize money will be distributed via PayPal or bank transfer to the team captain, who will be responsible for distributing it among team members. Winners will need to provide necessary information for payment processing within 14 days of the tournament conclusion.

Can we make roster changes during the tournament?

Roster changes are permitted only during the qualification phase and must be approved by tournament admins. No roster changes will be allowed once a team has qualified for the playoffs.

This is awesome! My team has been looking for tournaments with skill-based divisions. So often these community tournaments are dominated by semi-pro teams that stomp everyone else. Will definitely be registering for the Challenger Division.

Question about the divisions - I'm currently Gold Nova 4 but was MGE a few months ago before taking a break. Which division would I be placed in? And if our team has members from different divisions, how exactly is that handled?

Hi Jennifer! We'll use your current rank (Gold Nova 4) for division placement. For teams with players across different rank ranges, we calculate the average of your top 5 players' ranks. So if you have 3 Gold Novas and 2 Master Guardians, you'd likely be placed in the Challenger Division. Feel free to email us your full team details if you'd like a more specific assessment!

$5,000 prize pool is pretty impressive for a community tournament! Love that you're adding all registration fees to it too. One suggestion - it would be cool to have a community broadcast team contest where viewers can vote for their favorite casters during the qualifiers, with the winners getting to cast some of the playoff matches.
